FUNDAMENTALS OF STDs IN CLINICAL PRACTICE, January 25-27, 2010 in Oakland,  presented by our expert faculty and local guest specialists. This comprehensive course offers current in-depth information for clinicians on STDs and covers epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and management, screening and prevention, sexual history taking and client-centered counseling, pregnancy, adolescents, dermatology, substance abuse, racial and other population disparities, and partner management. MALE AND FEMALE GENITAL EXAM SKILLS on January 28, 2010, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in San Francisco is an optional skills-based training focusing on the male and female genital exam. Participants engage in experiential training with male and female teaching assistants. Designed for clinicians who will be using these skills in their clinical practice. EXAMINATION AND INTERPRETATION OF WET PREPARATIONS OF VAGINAL SPECIMENS on January 28, 2010, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in San Francisco is an optional course which presents issues of CLIA regulation, quality control, and infection control, a brief interpretation of VWM and application to diagnosis of vaginitis. The remainder consists of experiential training, including laboratory practicum on examination of saline and KOH vaginal wet mounts.
