STD Update: Emphasis on Syphilis
This course covers epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and management of STDs for the practicing clinician. It is presented in an interactive format and incorporates case discussions. Emphasis will be placed on diagnosis and management strategies for syphilis, evaluating a patient with a positive serologic test for syphilis using a decision algorithm, correct use for high-risk DNA HPV tests, and suppressive & episodic treatment options for patients with HSV. New treatment guidelines for gonorrhea and chlamydia as recommended in the CDC 2006 STD Treatment Guidelines will also be covered.
