Social Determinants of Health and Equity; The Impacts of Racism on Health
Social Determinants of Health and Equity: The Impacts of Racism on Health
A webinar with Camara Phyllis Jones, MD, MPH, PhD, Research Director on Social Determinants of Health and Equity in the Division of Adult and Community Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Adjunct Associate Professor at the Morehouse School of Medicine and the Rollins School of Public Health.
In this interactive presentation Dr. Jones will seek to broaden the national health debate beyond the provision of health services to encompass attention to the social determinants of health (including poverty) and the social determinants of equity (including racism). She will discuss new methods for comparing data and discuss her work on "race"-associated differences in health outcomes. Dr. Jones will use her allegories on "race" and racism illuminate topics that are otherwise difficult for many Americans to understand or discuss.
