Three Important Clinical Trainings Coming in Sept!


STD UPDATE: EMPHASIS ON SYPHILIS on September 14, 2009, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Oakland covers epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and management of STDs for the practicing clinician. MALE AND FEMALE GENITAL EXAM SKILLS on September 15, 2009, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in San Francisco is a skills-based training focusing on the male and female genital exam. Participants engage in experiential training with male and female teaching assistants. Designed for clinicians who will be using these skills in their clinical practice. EXAMINATION AND INTERPRETATION OF WET PREPARATIONS OF VAGINAL SPECIMENS on September 15, 2009, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in San Francisco presents issues of CLIA regulation, quality control, and infection control, a brief interpretation of VWM and application to diagnosis of vaginitis. The remainder consists of experiential training, including laboratory practicum on examination of saline and KOH vaginal wet mounts.
